Jason Icerman

Jason Icerman
City of Tallahassee
Program Engineer
(NWFWMD)

Does your local government/special district have an established stormwater utility or similar financing mechanism?
Yes.

How long have you been a member of FSA (years)?

I have been a member for 17 years.

Have you served FSA in the past?
I have been a Conference Committee Member and past presenter.

What abilities and attributes can you bring to the Board?
I am a self-titled nerd with a passion for stormwater. I am a solution-oriented professional who fits easily into group settings and am an effective communicator, be it written, virtual, or in-person. I am highly organized (just don't look at my inbox) and understand the importance of being responsive even when multiple priorities demand attention. As a Board member, I will bring the perspective of a current municipal employee and former private consultant who has also lived and worked in many parts of the state, including Tallahassee, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Sarasota, and Tampa.

What background and experience do you have in the stormwater industry?
I have spent my entire professional career working in the Florida stormwater industry. I currently work in the Water Quality Programs group for the City of Tallahassee, but also have wide-ranging experience across the state thanks to my time as a private consultant. I have, or at least it feels like I have, worked on almost every type of stormwater issue imaginable, which has earned me a wide breadth of experience: Design & Permitting, Watershed Modeling, Water Quality Analyses, Resilience Planning, etc. However, I am most comfortable when working with "big data" and tackling multidisciplinary problems as I pride myself on being able see the forest through the trees and digest complex problems down to practical solutions.

Why do you want this Board position?
FSA has been an integral part of my professional development and I am eager to give back to our stormwater community.
