Gail Mowry
City of Gainesville
City Engineer
(SRWMD)

Does your local government/special district have an established stormwater utility or similar financing mechanism?
Yes.

How long have you been a member of FSA (years)?

19 years (with the City of Gainesville and Marion County).

Have you served FSA in the past?
I've been fortunate to have served on the Board since 2022 and the Legislative Committee since 2021.

What abilities and attributes can you bring to the Board?
My experience has been diverse in regard to where I've worked, whom I worked with, and the types of interactions presented over the years. That experience has helped teach me to be able to work collaboratively and productively with others, to negotiate and mediate when needed, and to problem solve as effectively and efficiently as possible. Every day I strive to learn something new and have always found opportunities to continue to learn and grow abundant through my participation in FSA.

What background and experience do you have in the stormwater industry?
Most of my professional career has centered on environmental issues including stormwater and I've been fortunate to work in varying capacities. I've spent time as a consultant at two different firms, at the state with FDEP, at Marion County, and am currently the City Engineer at the City of Gainesville.

Why do you want this Board position?
The work FSA and its members have done over the years is truly amazing and inspiring. I've been a long time member and have benefited greatly from that membership. Participating on the Board the last two years and on the Legislative Committee the past three years has been such a positive and enlightening experience. It would be an honor to continue serving on the Board.
