How long have you been a member of FSA (years)?
I have been a member for over four years.

Have you served FSA in the past?
I previously served on the FSA Board as one of the local government representatives from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). I left the public sector in August 2023 and had to surrender my seat. However, I continue to serve on one of the committees.

What abilities and attributes can you bring to the Board?
I previously served on the FSA Board as a local government representative from the SWFWMD. After transitioning to the private sector in August 2023, I stepped down from the Board but remained actively engaged through work on the Membership and Conference Committees. My prior Board experience gave me a deep appreciation for FSA’s collaborative structure and its role in uniting professionals from diverse sectors to address Florida’s evolving stormwater challenges. With over two decades of experience in stormwater and utility management, I bring a unique blend of strategic leadership, technical acumen, and cross-sector collaboration. I’ve led multi million-dollar capital improvement programs, developed rate models and ordinances, and built high-performing teams across multiple municipalities. I am organized, communicative, and solutions-oriented qualities that align with FSA’s mission to lead in water quality, flooding resilience, and environmental stewardship. I would be honored to contribute once again to advancing FSA’s goals and supporting its members.

What background and experience do you have in the stormwater industry?
I have dedicated my 23-year career to the stormwater industry, with experience spanning both public and private sectors. My work has included design engineering, construction, operations, planning, program management, regulatory review, watershed management, NPDES compliance, floodplain management, and fiscal/resource planning. I’ve served in leadership roles such as Public Utilities Director and Stormwater Senior Manager, overseeing complex infrastructure systems and managing multimillion-dollar budgets. I’ve also owned a civil engineering firm focused on stormwater compliance and best practices. My licensure as a Professional Engineer and my academic background in Biological Systems Engineering further support my technical foundation. This broad and integrated perspective enables me to approach stormwater challenges with a holistic and informed mindset - one that aligns with FSA’s emphasis on innovation, compliance, and sustainability.

Why do you want this Board position?
FSA is a vital resource for stormwater professionals across Florida, offering advocacy, education, and a platform for collaboration. I am passionate about contributing to this mission by helping guide the organization’s strategic direction, fostering knowledge-sharing among professionals, and expanding outreach to the next generation of stormwater leaders.  One of my core motivations is to support and empower early career professionals. I believe that mentorship, access to training, and inclusive engagement are essential to building a resilient and innovative workforce. I am also deeply committed to encouraging forward-thinking, sustainable approaches to stormwater management - particularly those that aim for zero waste and eliminate non-beneficial byproducts from treatment systems. These innovations are key to protecting Florida’s water resources and communities.  Additionally, I see tremendous value in strengthening the relationship between the public and private sectors within FSA. Having worked extensively in both arenas, I understand the unique strengths each brings to the table. I want to help bridge these perspectives to foster more effective collaboration, policy development, and implementation across the state.  Serving on the Board would allow me to champion these priorities and help ensure that FSA continues to lead with vision, inclusivity, and impact.
