Equal Employment Opportunity/Veterans’ Preference/Drug-Free and Tobacco-Free Workplace Minimum Qualifications: Hydrologist I requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, oceanography, coastal or civil engineering, or related field. Hydrologist II requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, oceanography, coastal or civil engineering, or related field and one-year professional experience in geology, hydrology, water resources, oceanography, or related field. Hydrologist III requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology or a related field and two years of professional experience in hydrology relating to water resources. Hydrologist IV requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or related field and five years of experience in hydrology or hydrogeology; or registration with the State of Florida as a professional geologist or professional engineer. An advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the required experience. Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. Physical Requirements/Working Environment: Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products with some field visits as required. Periodic field visits: Applicant must have ability to endure outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations. Licenses: Requires a valid Florida driver license. Travel: Requires travel to attend off-site meetings, sometimes outside of normal business hours including overnight. Ability to drive oneself to and from meetings.
