Stormwater Division Director - Pinellas County
Position Information Organization: Pinellas County Position Title: Stormwater Division Director Office Location: Clearwater, Florida Category: Management Position Status: Full-Time Salary Information: $103,632.46 - $134,000.00
Position Description: This highly professional position oversees over 175 staff and several sections within the Stormwater Management Division of the Public Works Department. The Division is responsible for the sustainable management of the County’s stormwater infrastructure, mosquito control, vegetation management, urban forestry and landscape services. This position also oversees the planning function for capital projects to reduce flooding, restore floodplain function, and improve the quality of surface waters and wildlife habitat; the development and implementation of asset management plans and studies, and the review of site plans, right-of-way use permits, and petitions to vacate that impact county infrastructure. The Division Director ensures that services are aligned with the Department's Strategic Plan and associated performance metrics.
Education/Experience Requested:
- Eight (8) years of progressively responsible technical, professional, and administrative functions in stormwater infrastructure, vegetation management, environmental management, mosquito control or urban forestry that includes formal project management and one (1) year of supervisory experience; or
- Associate’s degree and at least six (6) years’ experience of progressively responsible technical, professional, and administrative functions in stormwater infrastructure, vegetation management, project management, environmental management, mosquito control or urban forestry that includes formal project management and one (1) year of supervisory experience
Licenses Requested for Position:
- Eight or more years of management experience in a public works or similar environment, including stormwater planning, operations, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure, NPDES, and other associated functions.
- Eight or more years’ experience supervising a multi-disciplinary team of 30 or more staff.
- Eight or more years of experience in the development and implementation of budgets in excess of $5M.
- Experience in the principles and practices of asset management specifically the standards set forth in ISO 55000.
- Certified Public Manager Designation or other leadership development training and certification.
- Certification/Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida or experience working in an engineering environment.
