Position Description: The Utility Superintendent manages the administrative and technical work in the Stormwater and Streets Division. Plans and supervises the operation and maintenance of Stormwater drainage lines, Catch Basins, and Street sweeping and Canal cleaning activities; oversees the Stormwater and Streets Division operation of road repair, sidewalk installation and repair and maintenance activities; does related work as required.

Education/Experience Requested:

  • Bachelor's degree with major course work in engineering, business administration, water management or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of supervisory experience in the operation and maintenance of stormwater systems and facilities and roads.
    OR
    An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities with a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses Requested for Position: 

  • Possession of a valid Florida commercial driver’s license class B.
  • A minimum of a Florida Water and Pollution Control Operator's Association (FWPCOA) Level C certificate.
  • FDEP Qualified Stormwater Management Inspector within six months of being hired.
