June 1997 DEP and the Florida Engineering Society co-sponsor a workshop each year on changes to the states revolving fund programs. This year's workshop will be held at the Raddison Twin Towers in Orlando on June 12 and 13. In addition to the review of state and federal changes to the wastewater and stormwater loan programs, the workshop will discuss two new SRF programs. The Safe Drinking Water Act was passed by Congress last year and the Legislature implemented the federal law in HB 1323 which passed this Session. DEP will now begin to develop rules for the Drinking Water Fund. HB 1323 also authorized the establishment of a Small Communities Wastewater Grant Program, which will also require implementing rules.
