Best Management Practices - Selection & Implementation (Basic)

This one-day seminar is designed to give an overview of temporary and permanent BMPs in association with a summary checklist discussing what is required and recommended for NPDES compliance. Updates pertaining to new and existing technologies as well as materials will be presented. This course is best if taken after completion of the FSA Operator's Certification Level 1 and prior to the Erosion and Sediment Control Course, and is intended for government personnel, private contractors and developers who wish to learn more about stormwater, erosion and sedimentation technologies.

Presenters

Cheryl Moore has been involved in the stormwater, erosion and sediment control profession since 1985. During her years of experience in the construction industry, her responsibilities have ranged from FDOT project coordination to site evaluations, NPDES inspections, design proposals and cost estimating. Cheryl is a certified inspector and trainer for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Inspector Training Program. Her expertise of best management practices in association with activities monitoring industry–related technology advancements has made her a desirable addition to many training teams throughout the Southeast.


Patricia Tierney holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Science Education from the University of Central Florida. She has over 12 years of varied experience in environmental, stormwater and compliance related projects. Patricia began her stormwater career as an environmental specialist with the City of Orlando, then pursued a career in hydromulching and is currently working as an environmental consultant. She is a certified inspector and trainer for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training Program. Patricia is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and a Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ).
